We are proud to participate in the CLEVER (Climate Emission Verification for Efficacious Regulation) project, launched on June 1, 2024, to address one of the most pressing challenges in the transport sector: the creation of reliable and standardized greenhouse gas (GHG) emission factors. This project plays a crucial role in the broader strategy to promote sustainable practices and mitigate the impact of climate change within European transportation systems.

Objectives

CLEVER is at the forefront of refining greenhouse gas (GHG) emission calculations in the transport sector, a critical step in meeting Paris Climate Agreement targets. Building on existing global efforts, we aim to standardise different emission factor methods into one precise, unified approach. Together with fuel producers, transport providers, policymakers, and NGOs, we develop comprehensive and consistent emission factors grounded in the latest climate science.

Through these efforts, CLEVER is setting the foundation for industry-wide changes and positions itself at the forefront of reducing transport GHG emissions.

GreenRouter's Role in the CLEVER Project

With expertise in calculating CO2e emissions in transportation since 2016, GreenRouter is an ideal partner for advancing industrial understanding of the benefits and practical applications of these methodologies. GreenRouter will work on the development and monitoring of real-world use case applications, while also leading training and capacity-building activities to ensure widespread adoption.
